This website has brought together many neighbors from throughout Dover Bay and has confirmed their alarm with current DBPOA board decisions and the potential impact on their properties. We want to once again alert our neighbors to these terrible decisions prior to the board elections at the DBPOA annual meeting on June 28.
WE NEED A 51% QUORUM for elections. PLEASE vote either by attending the meeting or voting through your proxy. We need 51% of members voting for elections to count, or nothing will change. Please REVIEW the candidates we endorse HERE.
Remember...
With little consideration for their neighbors, this board removed the AIL, diminishing Dover Bay revenue by more than a third. They have adamantly claimed that they can now charge so-called "private roads" for maintenance hoping to make up for income lost. They are willing to sacrifice benefits to neighbors while protecting their own interests.
They have their own agenda.
This board has ignored neighbors' opposition to the mess they created, even denying solutions from its member committees.
They have their own agenda.
The Roads and Trails member committee's recommendation for universal road maintenance has been ignored and discredited twice with a mish-mash of mis- interpretations of the CC&Rs.
They have their own agenda.
The member committee to revise our CC&Rs was board-controlled. It worked in complete secrecy for a year without revealing proposed revisions. It stonewalled opposing views.
They have their own agenda.
WARNING: Be on high alert to the CC&R changes coming from this board. The changes will enable decisions that will harm our community and devalue our properties.
They have their own agenda.
The board is attempting to restructure Dover Bay. They object to anything other than their ideas. When asked in the latest Roads and Trails committee meeting if roads they considered "private" could put up gates and chains to keep others out, the board president approved!
They have their own agenda.
It is not our agenda. Do we want changes made to our CC&Rs by a board that only interprets them to support its own agenda? Many neighbors do not.
From a Parkside neighbor
"Who the heck Is the DBPOA representing? I appreciate what the people in Bayside South and a few of the other neighborhoods are going through with the DBPOA.
Honestly, the Board is supposed to represent ALL neighborhoods in Dover Bay. But because most of the voting power on the Board resides in waterfront homes, it seems many of their decisions result in saving them money at everyone else’s expense.
Such is the danger of having a self-serving Board. We all need to consider that the DBPOA is ignoring their own Roads Committee recommendations."
Shannon Lane neighbor called this a
"Private Roads debacle"
A 6B neighbor wrote...
"Because we are good neighbors, we want to promote the betterment of the whole community and we have a growing desire for an agreed universal care and maintenance system of all roads/trails, as it is in the best interest of our entire community."
A Bergstrom neighbor told us...
"We support you 100% for removing this board."
From a neighbor on Eskridge Place
"From conversations with Eskridge neighbors, there is widespread concern and frustration about the potential for unexpected costs and the lack of transparency in the process. Many feel blindsided by the possibility of new financial burdens and are questioning the fairness of changing such a fundamental aspect of their property rights after the fact. The consensus is clear: any move to privatize or alter the management of Eskridge Place should be subject to thorough public discussion and consent, not imposed unilaterally."
From a Roads and Trails Committee member
"Every time I think we might be turning a corner, the committee chair opens his mouth and sends us back to square one. He just dismisses other peoples' opinions."
From a Slaveck neighbor
"This board is the least qualified to make any CC&R changes since they clearly don't understand the current CC&Rs that came with our title. This board is NOT qualified to change all of Dover Bay, neither is it their responsibility. If we let them succeed, watch our property values plummet.:
