XV. How Can We Trust This Board?

We ask that you please forward this to as many Dover Bay neighbors as you know!

Thanks to CC&R committee members, we have seen the draft of the CC&Rs this DBPOA board has been working on in secret for the last year. There are changes that could ruin Dover Bay.

It is scary. How could we have let this happen?

Simple. The board has not been forthright with their intentions or their real actions. In fact, they have been secretive and disingenuous with members.  One CC&R committee member independently wrote about her experience on the CC&R committee.

Have any of you been asked your opinion about these CC&Rs? Have any of you had any indication as to what these changes are? We need to vote these folks out at the board elections!

A review of the draft CC&R changes prove that this board has its own agenda, not ours. PLEASE NOTE:

• They have spent our dues money on board-requested CC&R changes without the true collaboration of members. They will tell you it was done by committee, but committee members report that is not the case. We have heard that although there is some constructive cleanup in the draft, major changes were drawn up with requests from the board to attorneys to support their own agenda. • The committees they formed to feign member participation and approval were shams, a facade to implement their own agenda. The Roads and Trails committee went silent for 9 months while the board chair continued to report on it in monthly meetings as if the work continued.

• We have read their draft CC&R documents. The changes will allow this board to radically increase their authority and restructure living here in Dover Bay. You need to be aware that the CC&R committee did not unanimously support the board's draft changes.
  

• We have also had reports that this board has used our dues for a repeated legal opinion to back their interpretation of CC&Rs to privatize roads.
  

• This board has not been collaborative or transparent. In just one neighborhood there have been over 25 requests (both individual and group) for board responses to questions and concerns with little response. Crickets.

This board seems to think they know better than all of us what life should be like in Dover Bay. They have concocted a huge overreach of their responsibilities and must be stopped.

One person asked us...

"How do neighbors do this to neighbors?"

Efforts like this count on us being unaware and uncaring. Not a chance. Did they think we wouldn't oppose changing Dover Bay to THEIR liking??

Help preserve Dover Bay Vote this current board OUT! The current CC&Rs require a minimum of 3 board members, Article 5.5.1. You only need to vote in three candidate members, not 7.
