XVIII. Thank You & What Now?

Updated: Jul 1

ree

A huge thank you to all who either showed up--or assigned proxies*--for the Annual DBPOA Meeting board elections. We missed a quorum by only 35 votes. While it was an improvement over previous years, we missed the chance to replace some very misguided board members and to add a broader representation of Dover Bay owners to the board. But, there is more to come.

We would like to thank Keena Green and Chris Judd for stepping up to run for the board. They both are long-term Dover Bay residents. They also have remarkable qualifications that would have served our entire community well.

We are grateful for the attempted work of our neighbors on the Roads and Trails committee, despite the refusal of the board president and chair of the committee to acknowledge their recommendations for maintenance of Dover Bay roads. And, we should learn from the experience of one of the members on the CC&R committee, who could not support the board's CC&Rs proposed changes. Did you hear how the board portrayed the work of these committees at the Annual Meeting? Not accurately. There is more to come.

Our Continued Purpose is Clear

This website will continue our work to assist neighbors who have serious questions about what is going on. Though we did not change the current board, there are a lot more neighbors now that are aware of the detrimental effect of the board's proposals, especially those pertaining to our roads. We are not discouraged and are even more alarmed.

The blogs here have been a compilation of about a dozen contributors with many more neighbors supporting our efforts. We first listed the group as 6B Dover Bay Neighbors. When the website became popular throughout Dover Bay, we changed the name of our growing group to Dover Bay Neighbors. We have the help of former planning commissioners, current Realtors and developers, engineers, business owners, insurance brokers, attorneys, communication specialists and more.

Some of our blog submissions are anonymous, others are not. Our administrator respects the requests of our neighbor contributors. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Our goal is simply to help everyone understand the issues at stake. They affect us all.

Our next blog will be an eye-opener to the critical mistakes in this board's proposed CC&R changes. Watch for it!

Also, please help us when YOU learn something that will inform all. Neighbors that submit written pieces may do so anonymously or with their name. If you want to comment, or have facts to help others understand issues, or if you just want to make a statement, we will consider publishing your content with your permission.  Simply email doverbayneighbor@gmail.com.

We will continue to help fight this board's "Roads debacle" that has pitted neighbor against neighbor, threatening the community we love. We will oppose any effort that will harm our property rights, the value of our investments and the degradation of our community. Rest assured, there is more to come.

*We have heard from several neighbors that their proxies were not received or recorded by Sentry Management. Send any inquiries on missing proxies to Alix at amillan@sentrymgt.com
